PRAYER TO THE SACRED HEART
Merciful Jesus, I consecrate myself today and always to Your Most Sacred Heart.
Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, I implore, that I may ever love You more and more.
Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, I trust in You!
Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, have mercy on us!
Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, I believe in Your love for me.
Jesus, meek and humble of heart, make my heart like Yours.
Amen.
ENTRANCE: GATHER THE PEOPLE
Refrain:
Gather the people, enter the feast,
all are invited, the greatest and least.
The banquet is ready, now to be shared.
Join in the heavenly feast that God has prepared.
1.
Around this table we dine as kin,
beloved family of God.
We share the body of Christ the Lord.
Here we become what we eat.
2.
Around this table we tell great tales,
The wondrous stories of grace
We hold the memory of Christ , the Lord
So we become what we eat.
3.
Around this table God's bounty falls
on all who hunger and thirst.
We drink the fullness of Christ the Lord,
so we become what we eat.
OFFERTORY: THIS BREAD THAT WE SHARED
Refrain:
This Bread that we share is the Body of Christ
This cup of blessing His Blood
We who come to this table bring all our wounds to be healed
When we love one another as Christ has loved us
We become God's daughter's and sons
We become for each other
The bread, the cup, the Presence of Christ revealed
1.
We who come to this table of hope
Come seeking strength for the journey
Here alone are the weary refreshed
The broken in spirit made whole.
2.
We who come to this table of peace
Carry within us the promise
Truth and justice shall flow through the land
And righteousness fill every heart
3.
We who come to this table of love
Find here a Friend who is faithful
Always present to us in our need
The love of the Lord never fails!
COMMUNION 1: BY THE WAKING OF OUR HEARTS
Chorus:
By the waking of our hearts,
By the stirring of our souls,
May the spirit of God abide,
and bring us together in Christ.
1.
Come O Spirit, from above,
Come from your celestial heights,
Come with your blessed light,
so radiant bright.
2.
Come O Saviour of the poor,
Come O source of gifts ensured,
Come with your gentle hope,
so wonderous and pure.
3.
In our labour rest most sweet,
greatful coolness in the heat,
Console our restless lives,
by your comfort, we seek.
4.
Bend the stubborn heart and will,
melt the frozen, warm and chill,
Come guide our searching minds,
towards your promise fulfilled.
5.
Grant us virtue's sure reward,
may your gracious love be sent,
Come with your peace and joy,
that shall never end.
Ending : May the spirit of God. Abide and bring us together in Christ.
COMMUNION 2: SHEPHERD OF MY HEARD
1.
My shepherd is the Lo-rd, for nothing shall I want,
Green are the pastures where I'm led to repose,
Near waters still and deep, God will refresh my soul,
I am lead onward in ways true to His Name.
Chorus:
Guide me O shepherd of my heart,
Lead me homeward thru the dark, into everlasting day,
Show me the way of truth and light, keep me always in your sight.
End: May my life, never part, from the shepherd of my heart.
2.
If I should walk one day, into the vale of darkness,
No evil shall I fear with God at my side,
There with your crook and staff, you give me strength & comfort,
You spread a banquet in the sight of my foes.
3.
You anoint my head with oil, my cup is overflowing,
Goodness and kindness crown the days of my life,
Within the Lord's own house, I dwell in peace forever,
Within the house of God my soul is at rest.
THANKSGIVING: O GOD BEYOND ALL PRAISING
O God beyond all praising,
We worship you today
and sing the love amazing
That songs cannot repay;
For we can only wonder
at every gift you send,
at blessings without number
and mercies without end:
We lift our hearts before you
and wait upon your word,
we honor and adore you,
our great and mighty Lord.
Then hear, O gracious Savior,
accept the love we bring,
that we who know your favor
may serve you as our king;
And whether our tomorrows
be filled with good or ill,
we'II triumph through our sorrows
and rise to bless you still:
to marvel at your beauty
and glory in your ways,
and make a joyful duty
our sacrifice of praise.
RECESSIONAL: SWEET HEART OF JESUS
1.
Sweet Heart of Jesus ! Fount of love and mercy,
Today we come Thy blessing to implore,
Oh touch our hearts so cold and so ungrateful,
And made them Lord, Thine own forever more,
Refrain:
Sweet Heart of Jesus! We implore,
Oh, make us love Thee, more and more.
2.
Sweet Heart of Jesus, make us know and love Thee,
Unfold to us the treasures of Thy grace,
That so our Hearts, from things of earth uplifted,
May long alone, to gaze upon Thy face.
3.
Sweet Heart of Jesus ! Make us pure and gentle,
And teach us how to do Thy blessed will,
To follow close the print of Thy dear footsteps,
And when we fall, Sweet Heart, oh love us still.
