RAILWAY STATION

Tank Road, in which the Church of the Sacred Heart stands, is the site of the first railway station in Singapore. Completed in 1903, the Singapore Kanji Railway Line started at Tank Road and connected with Newton, Cluny, Bukit Timah Road and Kanji Station. It was lated extended to Woodlands and Pasir Panjang. The line was dismantled in 1939 and nothing remains of the Tank Road Station today, except old photographs.
