5TH SUNDAY OF EASTER

27 & 28 APRIL 2024

5 PM, 10 AM & 12 NN MASSES

PRAYER TO THE SACRED HEART

Merciful Jesus, I consecrate myself today and always to Your Most Sacred Heart.

Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, I implore, that I may ever love You more and more.

Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, I trust in You!

Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, have mercy on us!

Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, I believe in Your love for me.

Jesus, meek and humble of heart, make my heart like Yours.

Amen.

(5PM) ENTRANCE: ALLELUIA! SING TO JESUS

1.

Alleluia! Sing to Jesus!

His the scepter, His the throne.

Alleluia! His the triumph,

His the victory alone.

Hark! the songs of peaceful Zion,

Thunder like a mighty flood.

Jesus out of every nation,

Has redeemed us by His blood.

2.

Alleluia! Not as orphans,

Are we left in sorrow now.

Alleluia! He is near us,

faith believes nor questions how.

Though the cloud from sight received Him,

When the forty days were over.

Shall our hearts forget His promise,

“I am with you ever more”?

3.

Alleluia! Bread of heaven,

Here on earth our food, our stay!

Alleluia! Here the sinful

turn to you from day to day.

Intercessor, friend of sinners,

Earth’s Redeemer, plead for us.

Where the song of all the sinless,

Sweep across the crystal sea.

(5PM) OFFERTORY 1: SEED, SCATTERED AND SOWN

Chorus:

Seed, scattered and sown.

Wheat, gathered and grown.

Bread, broken and shared as one,

The living bread of God.

Vine, fruit of the land.

Wine, work of our hands.

One cup that is shared by all,

The living cup, the living bread of God.

1.

Is not the bread we break,

A sharing in our Lord?

Is not the cup we bless,

The blood of Christ out-poured?

2.

The seed which falls on rock,

Will wither and will die.

The seed within good ground,

Will flower and have life

3.

As wheat upon the hills,

Was gathered and was grown.

So may the Church of God,

Be gathered into one

(5PM) OFFERTORY 2: ON THE PATEN

1.

On the paten with the Host,

I offer up my lowly heart.

All my life, my deeds, my thoughts,

Thine shall be as mine Thou art.

2.

In the chalice let me be,

A drop of water mingled there.

Lost O Jesus, in Thy love,

Thy great sacrifice I share.

3.

All today and every day,

O Jesus let me live in Thee.

So that I no longer live,

But that Thou may live through me.

HOLY, HOLY

Sanctus, sanctus, sanctus,

Dominus Deus sabbaoth,

Pleni sunt caeli et terra gloria tua,

Hosanna in excelsis.

Benedictus qui venit, in nomine Domini,

hosanna in excelsis

Agnus Dei, qui tollis peccata mundi, miserere nobis

Agnus Dei, qui tollis peccata mundi, dona nobis pacem

1.

I am the vine,

and my Father is the vine dresser,

My Father will take him to His heart.

Who believes in Me,

he will live with Me.

Life for ev-er and er-ver

2.

and my Father is the One who guides me

He who follows Me will never die.

My Father will lead him to His heart

3.

he who follows Me will never die.

My Father will lead him to the truth

I am the Life,

and my Father is the life-giver,

he who lives in Me will never die.

My Father will give him eternal life

(5PM) THANKSGIVING: THERE SHALL BE SHOWERS OF BLESSINGS

1.

There shall be showers of blessings,

This is the promise of love.

There shall be seasons refreshing,

Sent from the Saviour above.

Chorus:

Showers, showers of blessings,

Showers of blessings we need.

Mercy drops round us are falling,

but for the showers we plead.

2.

There shall be showers of blessings,

If we but trust and obey.

There shall be seasons of refreshing,

If we let God have His way

3.

There shall be showers of blessings,

Precious reviving again.

Over the hills and the valleys,

Sound of abundance of rain

4.

There shall be showers of blessings,

Send them upon us, O Lord.

Grant to us now a refreshing,

Come and honour Thy Word

5.

There shall be showers of blessings,

Of that today they might fall.

Now as to God we’re confessing,

Now as to Jesus we call

(5PM) RECESSIONAL: THE DAY FO RESURRECTION

1.

The day of resurrection!

Earth tell it out abroad;

The Paschal feast of gladness,

the Paschal feast of God.

From death to life et-ernal,

From earth to heaven’s height.

Our Saviour, Christ has bro-ught us,

The glorious Lord of Light.

2.

Our hearts be free from e-vil,

That we may see aright;

The Saviour resurrected,

In His eternal light,

And hear His message plain-ly,

Delivered calm and clear.

“Rejoice with me in tri-umph,

Be glad and do not fear.”

3.

Now let the heav’ns be joyful,

And earth her song begin;

Let the round world keep triumph,

And all that is there-in,

Let all things in creation,

Their notes of gladness blend.

For Christ the Lord has risen,

Our joy that has no end.

(10AM) OFFERTORY: TAKE THIS ALL OF YOU

Take this, is My blood,

Shed for sinners all.

For My life I give,

Truly I say, My brethren:

Should you not drink My blood,

Should you not eat My body,

You have no life in you.

Work for the food that’s lasting,

Work not for food that spoils.

Work for the bread from heaven,

And gain eternal life.

Will live for evermore.

(10AM) COMMUNION: HOLY IS HIS NAME

1.

My soul proclaims, the greatness of the Lord,

And my Spirit, exalts in God my Saviour

For He has looked, with mercy on my lowliness,

And my name will be, forever exalted,

For the Mighty God, has done great things for me,

And His mercy, will reach from age to age,

And Holy, Holy, Holy is his name.

2.

He has mercy, in every generation,

He has revealed,  his power and his glory,

He has cast down, the mighty in their arrogance,

And has lifted up,  the meek and the lowly,

He has come to help, his servant Israel,

He remembers, his promise to our Father.

And Holy, Holy, Holy is, his name.

END

And Holy, Holy, Holy is his name.

(10AM) THANKSGIVING: THE POWER OF YOUR LOVE

1.

Lord!  I come to You,

Let my heart be changed, renewed.

Flowing from the grace,

That I’ve found in You.

And Lord!  I’ve come to know,

The weakness I see in me,

Will be stripped away,

By the pow’r of Your love.

Chorus:

Hold me close,

Let your love surround me.

Bring me near,

Draw me to Your side.

And as I wait,

I’ll rise up like the eagle.

And I will soar with You,

Your Spirit leads me on,

In the pow’r of Your love.

2.

Lord!  Unveil my eyes,

Let me see You face to face.

The knowledge of Your love,

As You live in me.

Lord!  Renew my mind,

As Your love unfold in my life.

In living everyday,

In the pow’r of Your love.

(10AM) RECESSIONAL: EASTER SONG

1.

My Lord, He died for a Kingdom,

To redeem the hearts of men.

Now My people, don’t you weep

He has risen from His sleep.

He lives again, Alleluia!

Chorus:

Sing alleluia, the Lord is risen,

He is risen indeed, Alleluia!

2.

My Lord came forth like the morning,

With the splendour of the sun.

Came triumphant from the womb,

From the darkness of the tomb,

The victory won, Alleluia!

3.

My Lord united our mountains

With the everlasting hills.

Now the seasons and the sea

Sing His song of victory,

Rocks and rills, Alleluia!

4.

My Lord renewed all creation,

That had waited late and long.

Now we all with one accord,

Live and love the Risen Lord,

This is our song, Alleluia.

Praise to the Lord for He is good, all nations

Join we now in the love of the Lord, forevermore

God the Son became a man, to show us how to live

And upon the cross the God-man’s life He did give

But in dying He did Rise

That we all might live

Forevermore

God the Son said He must go to make a place for us

Which would be for all good men, who’ve lived a life that’s just

Said He’d come again to take us there

That all might live,

Forevermore

(12NN) OFFERTORY: LORD, MAKE US READY

Chorus:

Lord, make us ready now to share this meal:

Sign of our life in you.

1.

We bring you this food

Which bears the stain of human toil:

This bread, hard-won food of slavery,

This bread which brings to mind each meal

Which men have shared in happiness;

Lord, give it power to make us free.

2.

We bring you this wine,

The fruit of distant smokey hills,

This wine, cool and red like evening light,

The cause of suffering, yet the drink

That makes man’s heart alive and warm:

Lord, give it power to make us free.

(12NN) COMMUNION 1: GOD IS DWELLING IN MY HEART

Chorus:

God is dwelling in my heart

He and I are one

All his joy He gives to me

Through Christ his son

And with Jesus in my heart

What have I to fear

For He is the Son of God

In my heart He's near

1.

Christians who are baptized

Have You ever realized

The great mystery

God dwells in You and me.

2.

This joy God gave to You

Share it, with others too

Tell them, that God is love

Lift their hearts above

(12NN) COMMUNION 2: BREAD OF LIFE

1.

Bread of life and cup of hope, we come as gift to you.

Change our hearts; fill us with peace.

Transform our lives anew.

Open our eyes so that we might see

Your presence in one another.

Your life, poured out in love today,

Unites us all in you.

2.

Loving Lord, Creator God, open our eyes to see

The good that lives in each of us,

That called the world to be.

And when we fail to see the good,

When friendships falter and crumble,

Give us the courage to forgive that we may live in peace.

3.

Living Word, O Son of God, Your love shows us the way

That we may live in harmony, and from you never stray.

Wipe all oppression from our midst;

Give us a love for all people.

Your song of justice sing in us,

To live for peace today.

Thank you, Lord, for all You’ve done

Thing both great and small

And for Jesus Christ, Your Son,

Thank you most of all

You forgive us when we falter,

You bring healing when we sin

You redeem our life from bondage,

And renew us deep within

2.

You have brought us out of darkness

To the kingdom of Your Son

In whom all things hold together

By whose cross we are made one

3.

While the heavens sing Your glory,

And the skies proclaim Your work,

Day to day takes up the story

Night to night declares Your Word

Lord, to give up I'd be a fool

You are my all in all

Chorus:

Jesus, Lamb of God

Worthy is Your name

Jesus, Lamb of God

Worthy is Your name

2.

Taking my sin, my cross, my shame

Rising again I bless Your name

You are my all in all

When I fall down You pick me up

When I am dry You fill my cup

You are my all in all
